USA Diamond Cans |
|||||||
|
Circa: 1955
This is the first type of diamond can, which came out 6 months before the New Bedford can. This particular can came out of Hayward California. This has the "For Export Only" on the back. This is probably the hardest diamond can to find, and I would like to add that it is FULL! There is very little to no information on this can, any would be greatly appreciated. Circa: 1955
This
is the second type of Coke can that the Coca Cola Company produced.
It has "For Export Only" on the back of the can. These cans were shipped
out to the American troops in the far East. These cans are very rare and
very hard to come by especially in good condition. Circa: 1956
This can is a test market can that was produced in 1956 about a year after the Export can. Like the Export can this can has the REG.US.PAT.OFF lettering under the Coca Cola logo. Circa: 1956
This is
the third and last type of test market diamond can that was produced.
There is a little bit of discrepancy as to when this can was made but I'm
assuming that it was after the common test market can you find today. -- This can was canned in Norfolk Virginia Circa: 1956
This is a very interesting can that I did not pay attention to in the past, when I decided to specialize in diamond cans. This is what I believe to be a test market can for the state of Alaska. Just like the export can and test market cans, this one too has the Reg.US.PAT.OFF. under the 'Coca Cola' symbol. This can also comes with the nice top and bottom logos like the export cans (unfortunately the can I own never had a top put on only the bottom). I consider this can to be very unique and quite rare. Please email me if anybody has any information on this can.
Circa: 1960
This is the first domestic can that Coke came out with. It says "Trade Mark.REG" under the Coca Cola logo. Circa: 1960
After 1960 the second diamond design was introduced (the bottle diamond design). This is the first style that came out. Circa: 1963
The second bottle diamond, probably the most common type of diamond can. Circa: 1963
Circa: 1963
This is the third variation in the bottle design. As you may notice the canners began to change the lids of the cans from flat top to zip top.
